Circle Unfulfilled: A Sustainable Innovation in Massage Device Packaging

Designer Tiger Pan's Award-Winning Approach to Sustainable Packaging with Oriental Aesthetics

Unveiling the Circle Unfulfilled, a unique packaging design for massage devices by Tiger Pan that marries sustainability with oriental aesthetics. Inspired by the portals and bridges in Suzhou Garden, this design has been recognized with a Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2022.

The Circle Unfulfilled is a testament to the innovative approach of designer Tiger Pan and his team. Drawing inspiration from the incomplete circles found in Suzhou Garden, the packaging design embodies the philosophy of WABI SABI, a concept that celebrates the beauty in imperfection. This design, which is a product of a month-long project in Shenzhen, Guangdong, is a reflection of the time passing and the humbleness that comes with it.

What sets this design apart is its unique properties and realization technology. The packaging is made from a recycled material named Supra Pulp, derived from begass. This sustainable choice ensures that without any extra processing, the package will degrade in 45-90 days and re-enter the environmental cycle. This approach not only protects the product to the fullest extent but also effectively reduces waste, demonstrating a commitment to sustainability.

The Circle Unfulfilled is not just about sustainability; it's also about user experience. The outer instruction of the packaging softens the overall feeling of the product, implying the temperate pressing of a masseur's hand. The color scheme adds an ethereal and tranquil sense, narrating a vivid eastern story. This design philosophy is based on the Meridional Discharging Doctrine, which the product manager has strived to incorporate into the products.

The packaging design faced challenges in shaping the pack to protect the product while reducing the empty space effectively. The solution was the depiction of the Mobius Band, which made an impression and conveyed the message effectively. The dimensions of the packaging for the eye massager are Width 180mm x Depth 132.5mm x Height 200mm, and for the neck massager, they are Width 300mm x Depth 250mm x Height 270mm.

In conclusion, the Circle Unfulfilled is a remarkable example of sustainable packaging design that marries functionality with aesthetics. It is a testament to the creativity and innovation of designer Tiger Pan and his team, who have successfully created a design that is not only environmentally friendly but also aesthetically pleasing. This design has rightfully earned its Silver A' Packaging Design Award in 2022, marking it as a top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable design that showcases outstanding expertise and innovation.
